RARE Iconic Mid-Century Ceramic Design. Carlton Ware Orbit Cups and Saucers; and Milk Jug & Sugar Bowl.

These cups are in good condition for there age - they have an eggshell / soft matt glaze to the cups and a red glossy saucer. The sputnik / space age  inspired decoration is transfer printed on the cup - and often this has losses - my set has the intact design on each piece. The shape is called Triform and the atomic design was created by Peter Foster.

These items are hot collectables and the cups and saucers are certainly hard to find.

Six cups and saucers available: ALL SOLD

By the 1830s, tales of romance and chivalry inspired an interest in the costume and events of the Middle Ages. In 1839 Archibald William Montgomerie, 13th Earl of Eglinton and Winton, staged a medieval themed revel. At the famous tournament, held at Eglinton Castle,  Ayrshire, Scotland, the Earl and his guests dressed themselves in medieval-style costumes and took part in processions and competitions. The tournament was open to the public and attracted tens of thousands of spectators.  Sadly - like many outdoor events in Scotland - the weather played foul and a violent thunderstorm all but washed out events on the first day of the entertainments.

TG Green Herm Storage Pot TG Green Herm Storage Pot TG Green Herm Storage Pot TG Green Herm Storage Pot

This is a rare set of 1960s T.G. Green Ceramic Storage Jars - with simple wooden lids. They were designed in the 1960s by Judith Onions - and each has her iconic target mark on the bases.  The success of the more traditional Cornish Ware pattern was taken forward by the designers Judith Onions and Martin Hunt. They came up with the idea of taking an area of Great Britain and to assign its name to a range of T G Green pottery. With four clear, bold designs in mind - they looked to the Channel Islands in the English Channel and Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney and Sark gave their names to a new and exciting range of pottery in 1968. In 1969 a further design was added, that of the missing island 'Herm', this was left off the advertising literature of 1968 and never credited.

Herm pattern items are now very rare, and these three storage jars in are excellent damage free condition, and the wooden lids have original rubber seals, and been polished to keep in tip-top condition. They are in Honey, Blue and Brown colours.

Midwinter Pierrot Pattern Coffee Pot Midwinter Pierrot Pattern Coffee Pot Midwinter Pierrot Pattern Coffee Pot Midwinter Pierrot Pattern Coffee Pot Midwinter Pierrot Pattern Cup and Saucer Midwinter Pierrot Pattern Cup and Saucer Midwinter Pierrot Pattern Cup and Saucer

Rarer Midwinter Pierrot Pattern Coffee Pot and Selection of Cups and Saucers. The pattern is called Peirrot and was designed by Nigel Wilde in 1967. The shape is the MQ2 shape which was first released in 1966 - this stylised shape  probably did not survive the takeover by  Midwinter by J. & G. Meakin Ltd in 1968. Given its small production date this pattern remains a harder one to source.

Extremely Rare Pieces of Royal Doulton Commemorative Ware made in 1927 for the Daily Mirror. The pattern is taken from the Mirror’s comic strip featuring Pip, Squeak and Wilfred - and was issued from 1927 - 1935. The images on my ceramics features Pip the dog, Squeak the penguin and Wilfred the Rabbit. The comic strip was created by Uncle Dick (B.J. Lamp) and the illustrations were drawing by A.B. Payne.
